Rabbit Hole by Elif Sude Yorgancılar
Rabbit Hole
A cool breeze on my back,
sweat upon my chest.
Too many thoughts for such a fleeting moment,
yet my mind refuses to rest.
The birds keep chirping
The sky wears a pale blue.
Everything else lies perfectly still,
yet my mind keeps wandering.
I watch the leaves sway away without hesitation.
They never ask the wind where it is taking them.
Perhaps that's the way I should be going,
like the leaves,
blown by the wind,
without asking where it will take me.
