SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Pax Americana Magazine is an international independent student magazine out of the department of American Studies in Turkey.

-Please send one submission per genre at a time, and wait for a response before you submit additional work. If you submit more than one submission, we will not read the second one.
-Simultaneous submissions are welcome. If your work is accepted elsewhere, please notify the editors immediately by email (paxamericana.ake@gmail.com)
-We do not accept work that was produced wholly or in part by AI.
-Please limit your submissions to a maximum of 4000 words.
-All works should be in the standard manuscript format (Times New Roman, double-spaced 12, docx, pdf, etc.).
-We are always open to submissions of visual art and translations.
-We do not consider book-length works.
-We do accept works in English and Turkish.
-Essay submissions are accepted in MLA format: Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced, and include a Works Cited page where applicable.
-Blog submissions are always open, if you want to submit for the main issues please return to the home page.

-This issue's theme word is "Metamorphosis". Please try to follow the theme in your work.
-If you have any questions regarding the theme's range, please don't hesitate to email us (paxamericana.ake@gmail.com)
 
You are expected to revise and proofread your work carefully before submission. The editorial team reserves the right to make minor editorial changes when necessary. 

Visual works must be submitted in high-resolution digital format; an artist statement is optional.
If you have a title for your work, please let us know.

If you are studying in American Studies department in Hacettepe University, Turkey (or any similar major), please send your work via email (paxamericana.ake@gmail.com) You should name your file as AuthorName_Title_Genre.

"THRESHOLD" AS A THEME - WHAT DO WE EXPECT

Hello to all! We recently received some questions about the theme we've chosen for this issue of our magazine, and we wanted to answer them and any other questions you might have. As you can understand, "threshold" as a theme can encompass many things. After all, one of the main factors that attracted us to this theme was the diversity of this concept and its openness to interpretation. Of course, we understand the confusion that arises from this situation. But to explain briefly, our sensitivity to this topic will be based entirely on what you envision as a writer or artist. If the theme resonates with you, and you have expressed it in your work in any way, our editors will be happy to review your work.
